TikToker shows the “ghetto” of Switzerland – and is laughed at

On TikTok, Swiss users like to show off the beautiful nature and beautiful cities that Switzerland has to offer. A TikToker has now uploaded a clip to the platform in which he shows the sides of Switzerland “that no one else shows”. In the comments – and on Reddit – he’s being laughed at for it.

The reason for this: The ugly sides of Switzerland are still more beautiful than many beautiful sides of other countries. In the video, the maker shows ordinary apartment buildings, gray rainy days and construction sites. Plus, the sad lines of Eminem’s song “Stan” run in the background: “My tea’s gone cold. I wonder why, I got out of bed in the first place.”

The video is literally being torn apart in the comments. For example, a user might say, “You should never leave Switzerland if you think it’s bad” – or, “It’s so ridiculous. You Swiss are just spoiled.”

The video has since been removed by its creator. Even if it had several hundred thousand views. But as is known, the internet never forgets, because the clip has now also ended up on Reddit.

The video landed on the platform in the “Cringe of TikTok” subreddit. There, users exchange thoughts about the absurdities of TikTok. There, too, the comments on the video sound similar: “Who would have thought that a ghetto could be so luxurious.”
