“How do you get your partner to clean the apartment?!”

How do you tell your partner respectfully and that he understands and wants to change something in the long run that both parties in a household need to take up the broom from time to time? I’ve tried sooo many times: “Come on, let’s do it together!”, “Shall we make a cleaning plan?”, “I’ll do the kitchen, you the bathroom?” – it only worked exactly once and after that I was able to clean on my own again.

How do you make sure your partner also cleans the apartment?!

If I don’t, nothing will happen. I’ve tried that too. The reason: It’s just not that important to him that it’s clean. I wouldn’t want to be able to eat off the floor every day either, but cleaning up together once a week isn’t too much to ask, is it?

Did you have similar situations? How did you solve it? With a cleaner? To be honest, the money is too good for me… Living alone again?
