Christopher McQuarrie, who has been considered the mastermind behind the “Mission: Impossible” series for several years, has been working on “Iron Curtain” for over 20 years. In 2003 he wrote the screenplay for the action thriller and the material changed production studios several times. Now McQuarrie seems to have finally found the right place for his project.
How reported, Christopher McQuarrie “Iron Curtain” is along with Michael B Jordan (“Creed III”) and his production company Outlier Society for Amazon Studios. First the script from 2003 has to be worked on. McQuarrie has ‘Band Of Brothers’ author Erik Jendresen on board.
That’s what “Iron Curtain” could be about
It is not yet known what exactly ‘Iron Curtain’ is about. Translated, the title of the film means “Iron Curtain” and this is known as the ideological and physical border that separated Europe during the Cold War. The years between the end of the Second World War and the fall of communism in 1989 were not only more than tense politically, but of course also socially as a whole. There are at least enough subjects for films at the moment.
Of course, since Iron Curtain is an action thriller, espionage could also play a role in McQuarrie’s script. However, it will be a while before we learn more about this.
Before “Iron Curtain” Comes “The Dwelling”
Michael B. Jordan and company recently acquired the rights to Aaron Jayh’s short story The Dwelling, which is also being created for Amazon Studios. Jordan not only wants to produce himself, but also possibly take on the lead role.
Jayh’s story follows a retired football player who discovers a buried house in his backyard. But you really don’t want to believe the former competitive athlete. After all, he has received numerous blows to the head during his career. Is he just imagining the secret in his garden?
When we get to see “The Dwelling” is not yet certain. We won’t have long to wait for McQuarrie’s latest film, though. Mission: Impossible 7 – Dead Reckoning Part 1 hits theaters July 13, 2023.
