Danny Masterson, accused of drugging and raping three women

Danny Masterson, the star of the series “That ’70s Show”, is awaiting a new trial, and in the opening statement of the new trial, the prosecutor accused the actor of drugging and raping three women in his Hollywood home.

Reinhold Mueller, the deputy district attorney, revealed that Masterson allegedly put substances in drinks he gave to his girlfriend and two women he knew from Scientology circles.

“The evidence That will show they were high,” Mueller told the jury.

Discussion about drugs it was not in the first trial which ended in a nullity, however, in the new one court date direct assertion was allowed.

Masterson’s defense denied the existence evidence of substance use to drug the alleged victims and in the opening statement they asserted that the prosecution has only confusing stories and claims.

“(…) there is none drug charges in this case,” said Philip Cohen, Masterson’s attorney.

Both sides agreed that there was not evidence without substance because police investigation which led to both trials not starting until 15 years after the events.

Mueller, for his part, stated that he would choose to call a toxicology unit analyst from the police to talk about some of the sexual assaults facilitated by the most common drugs, the way they work and are metabolized, and side effects.

“(…) a toxicologist can give his opinion on anything he wants, but he doesn’t have one toxicology reportNo urine, no blood test, no DNA,” Cohen asserted.

The lawyer also told the jury that the actress, who spent a night alone with the performer at his home in 2003, did not mention that she was high when she told her mother and friends about the date.

Masterson, 47, could receive 45 years in prison if found guilty.
