In our weekly preview of what’s new on Netflix for the next week, it’s sometimes not so easy to fill an article with really exciting movie and series essentials. The streaming provider will bake smaller sandwiches again for the next seven days, with probably a nostalgic exception on Wednesday. What else there is to discover, we have listed for you below.
Here are the Netflix highlights of the week from April 17 to 23, 2023, sorted by day of the week as always:
Monday: What for the little ones
The children’s animated series, Oggy and the Cockroaches, has been entertaining young audiences around the world for seven seasons. Of “oggy oggy“ Netflix then produced an animated prequel in 2021, which is mainly aimed at preschoolers and in which the cat of the same name experiences completely cockroach-free adventures as a small kitten. Season 2 is out now.
Tuesday: Documentary and reality day
Tuesday brings another slice of reality to Netflix. In the documentary series “How to Get Rich” Financial expert Ramit Sethi explains to other people how to get the most out of the money they get. And in reality format “A Very Long Third Date” we experience how the spontaneous Costa Rica journey of a dating app acquaintance through the corona pandemic becomes an adventure that lasts for months.
Wednesday: Go, Go, Power Rangers!
Netflix also voiced the series with Oscar winner Mahershala Ali on Wednesday “In the Kingdom of the Chimpanzees” promising documentary material in the luggage. However, the already mentioned revival of an absolute serial phenomenon from the 90s should get a lot more attention: For “Power Rangers: once and for all“ returns much of the original cast from the early days of the Power Rangers for their 30th anniversary.
And beyond that, the revival should revive the early vibe of the cult series, which has been produced to this day with varying settings and casts. The trailer, praised by established fans, already gives a good taste of it:
Thursday: “Cocaine Bear” star & vampire with dental problems
While ‘Felicity’ and ‘The Americans’ star Keri Russell is currently hitting theaters with the crazy bear slasher comedy ‘Cocaine Bear’, she also has a new series on Netflix. In “Diplomatic relations“ As an ambassador, she gets caught up in an international crisis in which her decisions have a major impact on all world politics.
However, things get more bizarre in the Indian series “Tooth Pari: When Love Bites“in which a vampire with dental problems falls in love with a shy dentist.
Friday: Replenishment of Netflix movies
After Thursday’s new series, Netflix is doing more movies on Friday – from Turkish thrillers “Boga Boga“ about a couple who want to try a fresh start after a scandal, but are eventually overtaken by their past, via RomCom “A tourist guide to love“ with “One Like None” star Rachael Leigh Cook to the Swedish time warp comedy “Again“.
Saturday: Science for the little ones
After supplying the little ones with the second “Oggy Oggy” season at the beginning of the Netflix week, this too will be decided over the weekend. The children’s series “Adam Twist“in which the young scientist of the same name explores the world in his own way, season 4 will even start on Saturday.
Sunday: Nothing new on Netflix
Netflix has not yet announced anything new for Sunday. And so, as is often the case at the end of the week, you have a little more time to work through your viewing list, go to the cinema or simply enjoy the (hopefully) beautiful spring weather.
