These 10 Disney stars have been arrested before

Disney is associated with fond childhood memories for most people. But many Disney stars have attracted negative attention in the past, with these ten going so far as to get busted. Some of them even spent time in prison – like the following former child stars.

Shia LaBeouf has been arrested several times over the years and has served time in prison. In the essay “Error Breeds Sense” he wrote about his criminal past. The first time he was detained by the police was when he was nine when he stole a pair of shoes. At the age of 20, he tried to stab his neighbor with a knife and spent two days in jail. LaBeouf was also arrested for bar brawls, disorderly conduct, trespassing on property, public intoxication and multiple drunk driving charges.

His last arrest was in 2020 for assault and robbery. A verbal altercation ended in a brawl.

Lindsay Lohan is a popular name when it comes to child stars who are under too much pressure and crash sooner or later. She was first arrested for drunk driving at the age of 20. For that, she spent 84 minutes in jail, did 10 days of community service and was placed on three years’ probation. She went to jail again for not completing her parole – this time for two weeks. Both times she was released early because the prisons were overcrowded. In 2012, she was arrested twice for beating a man and assaulting a woman in a club. Both lawsuits were dropped.

In 2018, David Henrie was arrested for walking into LAX airport in Los Angeles with a loaded gun. He was sentenced to two years of probation. He later apologized on social media, writing that he accidentally brought his gun, which “I own legally and in my name”, to the airport. He also wrote that the whole thing was “embarrassing” to him and that he was “ashamed”.

When Mitchel Musso was 20 (2011), he was arrested for drunk driving. He had driven through an intersection and had disobeyed an officer’s instructions. Musso posted $5,000 bail and was released from prison.

Debby Ryan wrecked her car in an accident in 2016 and was arrested for drunk driving. The morning after the accident, she was released from prison after posting $100,000 bail. She received three years of probation.

Twelve years before Phil Lewis played the hotel manager in Hotel Zack & Cody, he was found to be three times the legal alcohol limit after a car accident. A 21-year-old woman was killed in that accident and Lewis was sentenced to one year in prison, two years of probation and 350 hours of community service.

In 2008, two weeks after the premiere of ‘High School Musical’, Dutch Whitlock was arrested for attempting to rob a pizza restaurant where he worked with a gun. During the robbery, he was recognized by the employees.

Orlando Brown has previously been arrested for drunk driving, domestic violence and drug possession. In 2018, he was arrested again under an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court, this time not by the police but by bounty hunters. He was jailed for 15 days. A month later, he was arrested again when he was caught breaking into a restaurant. This time his sentence was 45 days behind bars.

Adam Hicks and his girlfriend began a series of armed robberies in 2018. In 2021, he was found guilty and sentenced to five years in prison. However, he was released in March 2022 because the almost 1,500 days he had been in pre-trial detention counted towards his sentence.

Stoney Westmoreland played the main character’s grandfather in the new Disney series “Story of Andi”. In 2018, he was arrested for demanding nude photos of a 13-year-old and sending him pornographic content. When he wanted to meet the boy for sex in a hotel, he was arrested – it was an undercover police operation. He was charged with four counts of handling material harmful to minors and seducing minors over the Internet. He was sentenced to two years in prison and is registered as a sex offender.

His lawyer said: “Mr. Westmoreland insists he thought the person he was talking to was probably an adult role-playing.” And further: “If there had actually been a minor when he arrived, he would have gone.”
