Luke vs Anakin – who would win? According to this “Star Wars” director, there can only be one winner!

Luke vs. Anakin – who would win in a direct and above all fair exchange of blows? This topic has certainly been the subject of almost countless fan discussions. Now “The Mandaloriancreator and showrunner Jon Favreau asked to speak and the director of “Star Wars” has a clear opinion on the subject.

Of course, the father-son duo went head-to-head in the original trilogy. In both Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. But these fights were far from fair, because Luke was still discovering his powers in the first movie, and in the second confrontation, Anakin, aka Darth Vader, was already at the end of his reign. But how would a fight have ended in which both would have been at the absolute peak of their potential?

Jon Favreau has a clear winner

In an interview with This is exactly the question posed by self-professed “Star Wars” fan Jon Favreau, who is currently vigorously promoting the third season of the hit series “The Mandalorian.” In any case, the “Star Wars” all-rounder Jon Favreau has picked a winner in the debate between Luke Skywalker and Anakin Skywalker:

I think it must be Anakin right? I mean it has to be. The question, of course, is at what stage – an Anakin at his best? There are so many different phases of him. […] We caught a glimpse of Luke at his peak in what we were doing. At least we hinted at it, but who knows what he’s been up to? But Anakin faced so many more challenges… He was at his peak during a very dynamic period in Star Wars history, wasn’t he?”

We’ve embedded the video in its entirety here for you:

Sadly, fans will never know which of the two characters would ultimately prevail in a fair fight. Or maybe? “Star Wars: Visions” has already shown that there are also ways to tell stories from the “Star Wars” universe outside of the canon that offer a little more creative freedom.

Those who really feel like “Star Wars” can finally treat themselves to season 3 of “The Mandalorian” on Disney+ since March 1, 2023. Two years after the end of the second season, the series finally gets a sequel. What adventures await Grogu and Mando (Pedro Pascal) in the new episodes on the Mandalorian homeworld ruined by the Empire? One of the eight episodes will be released every Wednesday.
