The stylish collector’s edition not only includes all 90 full-length episodes of the original series, but also a host of extras. We briefly outline what you get for your money here.
This is the 40th anniversary edition of “Knight Rider”
The set contains a total of 23 Blu-rays with a total running time of 5,820 minutes. That’s a whopping 97 (!!) hours of Knight Rider entertainment. Although the price of 199.95 euros will initially make you swallow, given the size of this set, that is put into perspective. Especially since this is not a loveless release of an ongoing series, perhaps already shot in HD, but a lavishly restored cult classic.
For the first time ever, you get all episodes of Knight Rider dubbed in German and in High Definition. Finally, finally, finally you can put those old DVDs aside. After all, they’ve been around for many years, so it was really long overdue for an upgrade (in the US, for example, “Knight Rider” was released on Blu-ray in 2016).
Also on board are the two TV movies “Knight Rider 2000” and “Knight Rider 2010” (without Hasselhoff and with the new KITT) and the series “Team Knight Rider”, which is celebrating its world premiere – so far it has Disk never given up! And because Turbine Medien doesn’t do it half way, the collector’s edition also contains a lot of extras:
Plus, there’s a bonus Blu-ray with over three hours of exclusive interviews with the creators and plenty of tactile additions for your shelf – from posters, art cards to various replicas (e.g. of Michael Knight’s driver’s license). With the more than 300 pages thick “Knight Guide” packed with exciting information, you too become the ultimate “Knight Rider” expert.
Action cult shines in new splendor
“Knight Rider” was one of THE action series of the 80s alongside “The A-Team” and “MacGyver” and is finally celebrating its Blu-ray premiere after nearly 40 years – taking the format of the competition just mentioned one step further lies ahead. After “Miami Vice,” another slice of 1980s action TV history has finally made its leap into the HD world. The series ran for four seasons from 1982 to 1986 and finally had its German premiere in 1985 – before becoming a long-running free TV hit in Germany.
The cult hit from series creator Glen A. Larson centers on Michael Knight, played by David Hasselhoff, and his wonder car KITT, who fight for law and order on behalf of the Foundation. Armed with perms and artificial intelligence, they put an end to a slew of nasty villains – including with the help of Foundation Director Devon Miles (Edward Mulhare), computer experts Bonnie Barstow (Patricia McPherson) and April Curtis (Rebecca Holden). Lead Foot RC III (Peter Parros).
