So you can start the new year without gaining too much weight!

Losing weight at Christmas, or even starting the New Year a little lighter, isn’t easy, but it’s definitely possible. If you follow the tips we gave in December, you will start a little ahead:

1. Ask for support

Find a partner to lose weight to master the calorie challenges of the coming weeks. With support, it’s easier to brace yourself for physical activity and sports and avoid the mulled wine stand. Another advantage: You can get each other back on track during the sliding and sagging phases.

2. Take 10,000 steps a day

Plan a daily walk. Walk briskly for at least 20 minutes no matter the wind or the weather. Lunch break is especially suitable for a walk with coworkers – it can even add a bunch of dynamic fun and addictive factor! Or you can use the light-filled Christmas season for an evening stroll and follow the beautifully lit windows.

You can also exercise in a fun way, for example, if you are planning a bowling event with the whole family before the traditional holiday meal.

3. Beware of alcohol

Reduce the amount of alcohol. Rule of thumb: Consume no more than one bar of beer, one glass of wine or one schnapps per day, depending on your taste. However, if you want to have a full glass in your hand in social situations, you should preferably use the versions sprinkled with mineral water.

Include alcohol-free days as often as possible. This brings a lot. Because alcoholic beverages not only provide a lot of calories, for example, a mug of mulled wine, two and a half rows of chocolate: Alcohol also negatively affects fat loss and stimulates the appetite.

4. Eat healthy snacks

Build one at home and one at work instead of Christmas-themed pastries fruit plate on. Because for just one Mailänderli you get two tangerines and a good figure in terms of calories. Pay attention to the nutritional content indicated on the packaging. Avoid foods high in fat and sugar

5. Reduce fat

If you still need something sweet, low-fat biscuit varieties such as Chräbeli, Pfeffernüssli, Tirggel or Willisauerringli are a more beneficial choice for the range.

6. Not staying at the table for long

Maintain your normal mealtime routine and don’t sit for long periods of time, getting up every 10 minutes to get distracted. Play with the kids, clean the dishes, help with the service.

7. Tell people around you about your project

Then it will be not well-intentioned, but high-calorie gifts that can seduce you. The best thing you can do is give the rest of your attention to someone who isn’t worried about weight.
