We can’t get enough of these food series

Whether it’s for cooking inspiration, cultural education, or just for fun, these series revolve around one of our favorite topics: food. So if you pop one of these Netflix hits, you should stock up on enough snacks in advance. Because in these episodes, one thing is guaranteed above all: they will make you hungry!

«Taco’s Story» (2019-2020)

It might sound a little boring at first, but it’s definitely worth a visit: As the name suggests, two seasons of this series revolve around the history of the taco. The specialty from Mexico is also extremely tasty – but is it just a whole series about a dish? Worth it! Because the 13 chapters cover not only the origin of stuffed flatbread, but also extraordinary stories, modified variations and the world’s best taco recipes.

«Street Food: Asia» (2019) & «Street Food: Latin America» (2020)

Two seasons of this series (from the producers of “Chef’s Table”!) take viewers on a journey deep into the world of street food. In the first issue, the makers shuffle the streets of Asia, from Thailand to India to the Philippines. Along their way, they discover street food restaurants and eateries where tradition and innovation intertwine. In the second season of “Streetfood” you will learn more about the flavors of Latin America.

«Somebody Feed Phil» (since 2018)

American screenwriter and TV producer Phil Rosenthal (62) is going on a world culinary tour with “Somebody Feed Phil”. In places as different as Bangkok, Copenhagen, and Hawaii, he tries local specialties, always willing to try and humorously commenting on everything. Aside from great footage from faraway places, the series scores above all with the friendliness of the various presenters.

“Ugly Tasty” (since 2018)

Cooking series, travel documentaries and celebrity shows all come together: World-renowned star chef David Chang (44) chases the world’s best dishes at “Ugly Delicious”, featuring well-known personalities such as Chrissy Teigen. Accompany (36) or Seth Rogen (39). There is so much to learn about world cuisines from watching, and Chang tries to free us from our ingrained stereotypes about food. A refreshingly different cooking series that will soon have its third season.

“Salt. Fat. Acid. Temperature.” (2018)

According to American chef and nutritionist Samin Nosrat (42), every good meal is based on four key ingredients: salt, fat, acid, and heat. In each episode of this miniseries, Nosrat tackles one of these pillars. On a trip around the world, she discovers sumptuous dishes and recipes that she hilariously shares with the audience.

“Chef’s Table” (since 2015)

It all started with “Chef’s Table”: the series is considered the mother of all cooking documentaries – now an entire genre has emerged. And we can’t get enough of the series so far! Good news: Supposedly the new season is coming. The Emmy-nominated Netflix show focuses on the big: the show shows the top chefs of the world’s best restaurants. In episodes, we look over the shoulders of big bosses like Massimo Bottura (59), Tim Raue (47) and Alain Passard (65). For anyone who wants to gain an insight into the minds of the world’s master chefs and, above all, their cuisine. And also worth a visit for everyone.
