Ah! “Frozen” or “The Ice Queen – completely thawed”, isn’t that this beautiful winter fairy tale with Elsa, the squeaky cheerful snowman Olaf and the reindeer? Lots of fun for young and old, which really warms your heart.
That’s about right, but do you actually know the original version of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale? Unlike the fun Disney animation fun, it’s not nearly as kid-friendly there. We have briefly summarized both versions for you.
That’s how innocent the Disney version is
Eternal winter has descended on the kingdom of Arendelle. To save the land from an eternal ice age and end the frost period, the king’s daughter Anna (Kristen Bell) joins forces with the rugged mountain man and reindeer herder Kristoff (Jonathan Groff). Together they must track down Anna’s fugitive sister Elsa (Idina Menzel), who has seemingly uncontrollable magical ice skills. After the death of her parents, she retreated to the mountains to do no more harm.
The unequal couple is joined by loyal reindeer Sven and clumsy snowman Olaf (Josh Gad), who keep loosening up the perilous journey with slapstick and singing interludes.
By the way, you can check out the harmless animation fun on Disney+ and get yourself in the Christmas spirit:
