“I always feel very lonely around this time of year… Any tips?”

I know I’m not the only one with the problem, but I feel very alone with it right now: I’m not currently in a relationship and I don’t have a large family that I can visit at the moment or that is coming to visit me . My brother lives abroad and my mother is old and lives in a home. Of course I’m going to see her for Christmas, but after that I’m home alone anyway.

It’s not the first time I’m alone at the moment. But to be honest, I feel a bit lonelier than usual this year. The past few years have been a bit rough for everyone due to the pandemic and there have been no big parties on purpose, so I didn’t feel so lonely because I sort of knew it was all a bit similar.

Do you have any tips to get through this time better and what to do? I tried to organize a dinner party for friends but couldn’t find anyone to come over because everyone was celebrating with their families…
