The website known for Marvel insider information reports a very hot MCU rumor: one of their sources told them so that in the final of “Avengers: Age of Ultronthe artificial intelligence wasn’t actually destroyed, but remnants were left behind. Thus, a possible return of the character was prepared. When and where this will happen has not yet been announced. But with there is a lot of speculation – and the ideas make sense.
Ultron as a villain in “Armor Wars”?
An obvious theatrical appearance for the character would be in “Armor Wars”. Central to the story is what happens when Stark technology falls into the wrong hands. Could these false hands be those of other Stark tech – that is, Ultron himself? After all, there aren’t many characters who can get their hands on Stark technology. And not only would an awakening Ultron be capable of that, but Tony Stark’s technology would be his logical first port of call to upgrade again.
Armor Wars was originally conceived as a Disney+ series. But during the development of the project, according to producer Nate Moore, “ideas came up that were too big for this series.” They are ideas that need a movie. Moore does not reveal exactly what he means by this. But it does suggest that it’s just things that benefit the theatrical budget and impact on the big screen. And of course Ultron is a candidate that does just that.
Ultron also in “Vision Quest”?
In addition, the “Vision Quest” series was recently announced. In the Disney+ streaming series set after the events of WandaVision, the new version of Vision, again played by Paul Bettany, sets out to find out who he is. This search for one’s own identity and the memory of the past life must of course also lead to an investigation into one’s own “birth” – and this is where Ultron comes into play at the latest. Ultimately, Vision was created by Ultron to act as his new body.

In addition, it also comes close to concluding that an awakened Ultron is also seeking vision to regain “his body”.
The Return of Ultron: Another Rumor!
We must reiterate that there is no confirmation that Ultron is making a live-action return. But chances are we’ll see him in live-action formats, in addition to animated form in Marvel’s What If…? (season two coming in early 2023). But even that is still a rumor makes itself clear.
But fans will be excited to see what voice Ultron uses in the event of a possible comeback. Finally, “The Blacklist” star James Spader impressively brought him to life in “The Avengers: Age Of Ultron”. For the animated series “What If…” the (certainly much cheaper) alternative Ross Marquand was used.
