“Big Little Lies” is one of HBO’s many successful formats and can be described as one of the best series of recent years. Not only because a lot of awards were skimmed off (including eight Primetime Emmys, including for Best Miniseries, Director and Lead Actress, as well as two Golden Globes). “Big Little Lies” also received an excellent rating of 8.5 out of 10 stars on the IMDb – even ahead of current hits such as “Dahmer – Monster”, “The Bear” or “Euphoria”.
In the course of one Videos, actress Zoe Kravitz addressed whether a third season of “Big Little Lies” was a possibility. Her answer to that was as follows: “I don’t think it will continue. Unfortunately, Jean-Marc Vallée, our great director, passed away last year […]. And I can’t imagine going on without him. He really was the visionary for this show. So unfortunately it’s over.”
HBO has yet to officially comment on the future of “Big Little Lies,” and it’s not clear if a third season is even planned. For series writer David E. Kelley, the possibility of a sequel is at least a tentative “maybe”.
Host Liane Moriarty also stated that she had “a really good idea” for a possible third season. That could give fans a little hope, although it seems that the series ended with the death of Jean-Marc Vallée.
Meanwhile, “Big Little Lies” is about a group of mothers who deal not only with tragic incidents, but many dark secrets in a beautiful coastal town. The cast of the series includes Zoe Kravitz, Shailene Woodley, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Kathryn Newton, Alexander Skarsgard, Meryl Streep and Adam Scott. If you haven’t heard of the series, here’s the trailer for the first season:
