You could almost feel that there is a system behind it: Amazon recently announced that the second season of the fantasy series “Carnival Row” would also be the last, after the sequel was more than three years away. Now there is a very similar case: the Nazi fighter series “Hunters” with Al Pacino and Logan Lerman, among others.
The first season “Hunters” started in February 2020 on Prime Video and was renewed for a second season in August of the same year. After that, however, there was a long period of radio silence about the Nazi fighter series – so far the first pictures of season 2 in the magazine were published:
Bee was then too the news announces that after the late second season (which comes out almost exactly three years after season 1) it’s over. This development also forced series creator David Weil to make some changes to his plan for Hunters — and that includes a surprise comeback (spoiler alert!)
Surprising comeback…
Then in “Hunters” season 2 will also be the aforementioned Al Pacino be seen againalthough the character he played, Meyer Offerman, was actually killed off in the season 1 finale. It turned out that the leader of the Nazi hunters was himself a Nazi named Wilhelm “Wolf” Zuchs.
In season 2, Pacino appears in a story arc set in the past, while the main story of season 2 takes place two years after season 1 in 1979. Also returning, less surprisingly, are Logan Lerman as Jonah Heidelbaum, Jerrika Hinton as Millie Morris, Josh Radnor as Lonny Flash, Tiffany Boone as Roxy Jones, and Kate Mulvany as Sister Harriet.
… and a cult artist like Hitler
More interesting are the new additions in Season 2: How can report shall the German cult actor Udo Kier and his trademark, piercing gaze (also known from the “Iron Sky” movies) as part of “Hunters” Season 2 – namely as Adolf Hitler.

In the second season it’s all about him, because after season 1 the team is actually scattered in all directions and Heidelbaum and Co don’t get back together until they find out that Hitler is still alive. Also new to season two is Jennifer Jason Leigh (“The Hateful 8”) as top Nazi fighter Chava Apfelbaum.
