Legendary Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy has died aged 66. Actress Diane Pershing, who lent her voice to Poisn Ivy in the DC animation adventures, posted the sad news on Facebook. There she wrote: “Very sad news. Our beloved voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, passed away yesterday. He has been ill for a while but spends a lot of time at the conventions much to the delight of his fans. He will be sorely missed not only by the cast but also by fans around the world.
Conroy is widely known for voicing the Dark Knight in the popular 1990s animated series Batman: The Animated Series and other Warner Bros. Animation projects. The actor quickly became the voice of the Caped Crusader and can therefore be heard in the original sound in such films as “Batman Of The Future – The Joker Comes Back”, “Batman: The Killing Joke” or “Batman and Harley Quinn”. He also lent his voice to the eponymous justice fighter in the video games “Batman: Arkham Asylum”, “Batman: Arkham City” and “Batman: Arkham Knight”.
In addition, Kevin Conroy was also active in the theater and in the 1980s he appeared in plays by Shakespeare such as “Hamlet” or “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. For television, he made several guest appearances in “Ohara” or “Tour Of Duty”. In the cult soap “The Denver Clan”, Kevin Conroy even starred in eight episodes.
