If #NoNutNovember hits you, you’re not alone

If you use Twitter or Reddit, you may have come across the hashtag #NoNutNovember and wondered why you shouldn’t eat nuts in November. But what sounds like a nightmare for squirrels isn’t a diet change for animals.

No, it’s about masturbating. Or rather not masturbate.

The internet challenge aims to encourage especially men to abstain from orgasms through masturbation or sexuality in November. Or just to crack the hard nut.

The phenomenon is not entirely new. The challenge first appeared in the early 2010s. A web designer from the US wanted to make his voice heard by stating that men should masturbate less. When he was young, he masturbated himself six to eight times a day and then realized that life was better with “sexual discipline”.

In 2017, the movement slowly gained popularity on social media. In 2020, the Reddit community of NoNutNovember had more than 85,000 participants. In 2022, the group will already have more than 110,000 participants. It is not known how many of them actually participate in the challenge. “Some are here just because of the memes,” the Reddit platform writes of its No-Nut-November Community.

“No Nut November” (short: NNN) is similar to the “Movember” challenge, in which men don’t shave their faces for a month to raise awareness about prostate cancer and other health problems in men. In the case of No Nut November, on the other hand, there is no official background. Some participants claim that not ejaculating has health benefits. However, this has not been scientifically proven.

And when you think it couldn’t get any worse, there’s a new one somewhere even more questionable So it’s a challenge. Anyone who has avoided masturbation and sex for a month can take part in the “Destroy Dick December” Challenge.

Unlike November, December is all about masturbating and having as much sex as possible. On December 1st you should have your first orgasm and increase the number every day so that you have on December 31st lighting fireworks has a total of 31 orgasms.
