If you ask genre fans about the best zombie movies of the past decade, ‘Train To Busan’ will definitely be thrown into the mix. The undead shocker from South Korea is tightly told, uncomplicated and, above all, extremely bloody horror cinema that convinced even old hands of the genre. Director Yeon Sang-ho is responsible for this hunt from Seoul to Busan. With ‘Parasyte: The Grey’, the filmmaker now brings body horror to Netflix – in series form.
The first poster expertly sets the mood for the creepy mix of science fiction and horror and also reveals the start date:

The series is based on the world famous horror manga “Parasyte”
“Parasyte: The Grey” is loosely based on Hitoshi Iwaki’s horror manga “Parasyte,” which has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide. The manga is about 17-year-old student Izumi Shinichi, who is attacked by an alien parasite. But “Migi” (the foreign body’s nickname) fortunately fails to enter the teenager’s brain, and therefore only his hand is controlled by the organism. Both must now try to get along with each other. But when more aggressive creatures appear in town, the unlikely duo must work together to survive.
The Netflix series will likely focus on three characters: Su-Mi (Jeon So-Nee), who, like Izumi Shinichi in the manga, has entered into a symbiosis with the parasite, and Kang-Woo (Kyo-Hwan), who will on a journey to find his sister and Jun-Kyung (Lee Jung-Hyun), who, as the leader of an anti-parasite unit, probably doesn’t care much for the alien visitors. Conflicts are inevitable.
People who serve as host bodies for a parasite and do not exactly respond optimally to it? This also reminds us a bit of “The last of us“. Perhaps the South Korean version of the successful series is waiting for us here? We’re definitely excited to see if Yeon Sang-ho can win us over with his horror sci-fi vision.
