“So disgusting everyone has to look away”: Lead actress promises full horror factor for sci-fi sequel “Alien: Romulus”

You can whip up an audience with the promise of jump scares – this also worked really well in the run-up to the theatrical release of David Cronenberg’s “Crimes Of The Future”, when the director promised people would faint. But the dystopia thriller with Viggo Mortensen was not that disturbing. Or the promise of disgust for “Alien: Romulus“can be redeemed, the lead actress Isabela Merced gave?

The theatrical release of “Alien: Romulus,” as the latest film in the legendary science fiction saga is called, has been highly anticipated as fans are eager to see how the series will continue after the rather mixed reception of “Prometheus” prequels. . Now it seems certain: the new ‘Alien’ film must at least follow the tradition of its predecessors in terms of shock effects, which made a lasting impression with treacherous horror ideas such as the legendary Chestburster scene.

Isabela Merced was the only one who could watch

In an interview with the Merced has now revealed that “Alien: Romulus” will feature at least one scene that will make audiences turn away in disgust. After all, even the people involved in the shooting couldn’t stand to watch this scene:

“There’s a scene where I’m in it, we all had to look away. No one could keep looking at the iPad because it was so dirty,” the actress explained. She was the only one watching, but at least she filmed the scene…

“Alien: Romulus” from director Fede Alvarez (“Evil Dead”) will hit theaters on August 15, 2024. Also in attendance are Cailee Spaeny (“Priscilla”), Archie Renaux (“Shadow And Bone”) and David Jonsson Fray (“Rye Lane”). The plot of ‘Alien: Romulus’ takes place in the time between Ridley Scott’s 1979 ‘Alien’ and James Cameron’s 1986 ‘Aliens’.

This is known about “Alien: Romulus”.

In terms of content, ‘Alien: Romulus’ would be largely separate from the original series, but cross-references are to be expected, as the new film is set in the middle of the ‘Alien’ saga. It’s about a group of young people who encounter the most terrifying creature in the universe on a distant planet. The Xenomorph sends greetings… There’s also one next to the new ‘Alien’ movie Prequel series ‘Alien’ from “Fargo” showrunner Noah Hawley in the works.

If you want to see Isabela Merced in theaters now, you can buy a ticket for the Marvel adventure “Madame Web.” She can be seen in it alongside Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney, among others.
