With his films “Extraction” and “Extraction 2”, director Sam Hargrave has already proven that he can stage intense action in an atmospheric way. However, his new project will no longer be shown exclusively on Netflix, but in cinemas. Hargrave is working on an adaptation of the bloodthirsty graphic novel “Kill Them All” for Paramount Pictures, which he will bring to the screen based on a script by James Coyne (“Highlander”).
“Kill Them All” is based on the popular graphic novel by Kyle M. Starks – and in this film, the name says it all. Here, an elite assassin takes on an entire syndicate after learning they are trying to kill her. Together with a drunken ex-cop, she heads to the bad guys’ headquarters to shoot and fight her way through 15 floors and take down every criminal in this building. Her goal: to confront the boss waiting for her at the top of the syndicate headquarters because she shares a complicated past with him.
“The Raid” sends greetings
Action heads will inevitably think of Gareth Evans’ genre hit “The Raid” when they hear this synopsis. In this film, a special police unit is trapped in a high-rise building occupied by unscrupulous gangsters and must fight their way to freedom – and fight from floor to floor. And Pete Travis’ “Dredd” also thrilled fans with a similar premise. Here, “The Boys” star Karl Urban fought his way through a block occupied by drug dealers as grumpy police officer Judge Dredd.
Anyone who watches the crazy 21-minute one-shot from ‘Extraction 2’, in which Chris Hemsworth fights his way through a prison, already knows that Sam Hargrave masters claustrophobic action ballet scenes with flying colors. However, the project is currently still in its very early stages, meaning there is no information on the cast yet, let alone a planned release date.
In the meantime, all fans of the ‘Extraction’ series don’t have to worry. “Extraction 3” is coming! And apparently Netflix plans to collaborate again with the successful duo of Chris Hemsworth and Sam Hargrave:
