“Cash Truck”, “The Gentlemen” or “Operation Fortune”: Guy Ritchie has put in a huge amount of work in recent years, releasing one hit after another – and showing an astonishingly high hit rate. Apparently the successful British director is far from tired, because with “The Ministry of Unfriendly WarfareThe filmmaker already has the next film in the starting blocks.
The war actioner ‘The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare’ brings back memories of another cult film: Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Inglourious Basterds’. Because just like in the Naziploitation film by the ‘Pulp Fiction’ director, here too a task force has to operate behind enemy lines. Add a dash of James Bond agent charm and Guy Ritchie’s new film is ready. The first trailer, which has now been released, promises some absolutely impressive World War II action.
If you were looking forward to seeing the British director’s latest film on the big screen, you might unfortunately be disappointed. As with the “The covenant” of Jake Gyllenhaal It is quite possible that ‘The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare’ will not be released in theaters, but will be released directly on Amazon Prime Video. The streaming giant has secured distribution rights to the action hit in this country, which will be released in US cinemas on April 19.
And that’s what “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” is about
‘The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare’ is essentially based on true events, as during World War II there was actually a special forces unit created by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and ‘James Bond’ creator Ian Fleming (!). They operated behind enemy lines using quite unconventional methods.
And that’s what the film is about: In 1939, Nazi Germany conquered Europe. To stop the warlike enemy, the British Prime Minister decides to put together a special task force that will operate and sabotage enemy territory. But putting together the team is already a headache, because not every candidate is suitable for such a position.
The cast is led by ex-Witcher Henry Cavill, who can, however, hope for strong support from ‘Reacher’ giant Alan Ritchson. There’s also “Baby Driver” gangster Eiza González, Alex Pettyfer (“In Time”), “After Passion” bad boy hero Fiennes Tiffin, Henry Golding (“The Gentlemen”) and cult star Cary Elwes (“Robin Hood – Heroes). in pantyhose) appear in front of the camera. And of course Til Schweiger should not go unmentioned, who also does the honors for the British director.
