“God, leave your body alone”: “Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert warns against cosmetic surgery

Becoming a star with a series is a dream for many actresses. But for Nicole Eggert, the hype surrounding ‘Baywatch’ also had its downside: above all, the focus on the appearance of the female protagonists created a pressure to be beautiful. Eggert admitted to this, she now says in an interview with the American magazine ‘People’ – and looking back she regrets some of the decisions she made in this pressure situation.

Eggert now reports that he didn’t like himself in the famous red swimsuit. The now 51-year-old struggled mentally with this and eventually had her breasts enlarged to feel more comfortable in the ‘Baywatch’ look. “Oh my God, we’re going to shoot in a swimsuit all day,” Eggert recalls of her first day of filming in 1992. The actress was 18 years old at the time.

From her point of view, her colleagues on the series, especially Pamela Anderson, were all muscular, slim and perfectly built. She, on the other hand, had difficulty with her body: “The one-piece swimsuits were not exactly flattering. I didn’t want to wear them at all.” Nicole Eggert had breast implants placed so that her swimsuit “no longer wrinkles” at the front. Eggert hoped that the slow motion recordings of the lifeguards would have a particularly flattering effect.

“Of course I regret it now,” says the American today, who also wants to issue a warning. Young girls should think carefully about whether they want to go under the knife early today. “God, leave your body alone,” is Nicole Eggert’s call to today’s youth. She now describes her own operation as a “stupid decision at the age of 18”. Only later did she begin to consciously deal with how her body felt and the reasons for her decision.

Currently, however, the optical problems have become irrelevant. In December 2023, Eggert was diagnosed with breast cancer. After gaining around 11 kilos in three months and suffering from “terrible pain”, she visited a doctor and was given the shocking news.
