According to the IMCCE Paris Observatory Institute, the phenomenon begins at 06:58 CEST in Iceland and ends at 11:02 CEST in India.
The solar eclipse in Switzerland will be visible at 11:15 – for about two hours.
A solar eclipse occurs when the sun, earth, and moon are aligned. If the alignment is perfect, the moon’s shadow hits the earth to completely cover the sun and a total solar eclipse occurs.
The Paris Observatory said that the shadow of the moon will not hit the ground in the upcoming partial solar eclipse and that “it will not be possible to observe the total solar eclipse anywhere”.
The maximum value of the eclipse will be reached at 82.2% over Kazakhstan. That’s not enough for the pitch-black feeling, astronomer Florent Deleflie said. The upcoming solar eclipse is the 16th partial solar eclipse of the 21st century.
