“Game Of Thrones” creators provide an update on the highly anticipated Jon Snow sequel!

While the “Game Of Thrones” prequel “House Of The Dragon” is currently celebrating its free TV premiere on ProSieben, fans of the fantasy series are eagerly awaiting further stories from Westeros and the Seven Kingdoms – especially its own series about fan favorite Jon Snow (Kit Harington). It wasn’t until November that HBO boss Casey Bloys gave fans hope by announcing that a sequel for the channel is currently in development. At the same time, however, he also said that the spin-off had not yet been officially confirmed – so fans of the series will have to be patient for a while.

In an interview with The two creators of the successful series also spoke David Benioff And DB Weiss about a possible Jon Snow sequel and provided an update on their involvement in the spin-off’s development at HBO.

David Benioff and DB Weiss are currently done with Westeros

As part of the promotional tour for their upcoming series “3 Body Problem,” the two series creators declared that they were actually done with the world of Westeros. David Benioff stated: “It was very important for us to leave Westeros behind.”

When asked if they could imagine thinking differently in a few years and considering a series about Jon Snow, DB Weiss replied: “It would be really great. Nothing would make us more happy than working with the people from the series again. But there are many other ways to make this happen that are fresher and more exciting for everyone involved. Except [Kit Harington] He remains in good condition, which is a pretty heavy cape for a man in his forties; it weighs over 25 kilos.”

The two ‘Game Of Thrones’ creators also joked: that they could take on the Jon Snow story again when they themselves are 80 years old and Kit Harington is nearing retirement: “Then he can put on the coat with real gray in his beard.”

So it currently sounds unlikely that Benioff and Weiss will participate in the development of the Jon Snow sequel on HBO in the coming years. “Game Of Thrones” fans will have to make do with the prequel “House Of The Dragon”, which will finally get a second season in the summer of 2024. A spin-off titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight” is also planned and will begin filming this spring.
