“Suck it, Pedro”: This is why a “Succession” star insulted Pedro Pascal at the Golden Globes

Doesn’t exactly sound like a fun evening for Hollywood darling Pedro Pascal: With an injured arm in a sling, he had to watch as the Golden Globe for best performance by an actor in a drama series did not go to him, but to ‘Succession’. ” -Star Kieran Culkin departed – and then has Culkin squeeze in a malicious “Suck it, Pedro” (roughly, “Take that, Pedro” or vulgarly, “Lick me, Pedro”). Pascal then made a face that would probably fit into Pedro Pascal’s meme series of sad faces – after all, “Crying Pedro” is already legendary on the internet.

But it was clear: it was all just fun, and the Hollywood star, who was usually in a good mood, did not let his defeat dampen his mood. He made the sad pout clear as a joke. The prankster even used his injured arm as an opportunity for a joke and wore the inscription “ouch” on the fingernails of his right hand. But why did Kieran Culkin insult his colleague? and then a Gollum-like “mine!” added about the Golden Globes?

Kieran Culkin in the best Roman Roy style

In any case, all ‘Succession’ fans should immediately understand Kieran Culkin’s behavior. The actor won the prize for his role as Roman Roy – a sarcastic, scolding, constantly insulting slime who nevertheless (or precisely because of it) managed to become very dear to the series fans. Finally, Culkin always gave his character a vulnerable side.

The hearty “Suck it, Pedro” and the greedy “Mine!” could also have come from the mouth of his series character Roman Roys, who, after all, had earned him this award and who paid such tribute to Kieran Culkin. You can watch Culkin’s acceptance speech here:

What happened to Pedro Pascal’s arm?

At the awards ceremony, fans of Pedro Pascal were probably wondering what happened to “The Last Of Us” star’s arm. The star has been wearing it in a sling for a few days now, and of course he was asked about it on the Golden Globes red carpet.

“I fell,” was Pedro Pascal’s short answer. However, he did not go into detail about the circumstances of his fall and whether it was actually a broken arm, dislocated shoulder or some other injury. But of course, the star did not forget to give his fans a warning: “Be careful. That could happen to anyone!”

By the way, it wasn’t just Kieran Culkin who won a Golden Globe for ‘Succession’. The fourth and final season of the Family Empire saga emerged as the night’s big series winner with a total of four awards. When it comes to movies, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ came out on top with five Globes. An overview of all winners of the 81st Golden Globes Awards can be found here:
