Do you know what a summer slip is?

The dry season is approaching. Fun is knocking on the door, but you have to be careful with it “summer slide”.

Start your summer reading routine at At least 20 minutes a day is plenty, says Storm.

Allow children to choose their own reading material, even if it is below their grade level. The ability to read successfully will increase your confidence. Look for reading challenges or organize a friendly reading competition with family and friends.

Everyday activities are full of learning opportunities, says Storm. Add in other summer activities, such as spending more time outdoors, free programs offered by libraries, parks, camps, and vacations. So having great starting points so that schoolwork doesn’t really feel like work.

You don’t have to do it alone. Involve your children and other parents whenever possible. Your children will be more excited about learning during the summer months if the activities are focused on their interests, including new things they would like to try.

These are some of the ideas Storm has used with her children to help them retain those skills they’ve worked so hard to acquire.

– In the supermarket: Write a grocery list, llook at the store signspesar products, uUse the calculator to add up your food bill while you shop, among other things.

Use food preparation in the kitchen to help your children practice numbers and math in the following ways. For example: mead the required size of the pan, lread recipes out loud, marrange dry and liquid ingredientsetcAdd the amount of ingredients.

In the park, engage in learning by integrating the following: Find and identify different leaves, trees, rocks, insects, clouds, wildflowers and weeds orListen to birds using a free app like Merlin to identify them by appearance or song.
