In an interview with Parsons himself commented on the decision not to renew his contract: “It’s never nice to hear that you did something that made someone angry or sad. But I did what I had to do and it was the best way to deal with it. To be honest, we weren’t the kind of group where I felt the need to have a group meeting beforehand.”
Parsons also admits in the interview that he was quite surprised by the reactions of his colleagues. He also explained that part of him would have been happy if The Big Bang Theory had been able to continue without him. But the matter did not arise.
