Hotel Schatzalp opened its doors in 1900 as a luxury sanatorium in a beautiful location 300 meters above Davos. Today the impressive Art Nouveau building houses a mountain hotel on its attractive sun terrace. The building is said to have served as the model for Thomas Mann’s fictional sanatorium in his novel “The Magic Mountain”. One thing is for sure: this place still inspires its visitors today and offers them pure peace and relaxation. Not only the accommodation, but also the journey by Schatzalp train to the pedestrian area around the hotel has a slowing effect. Formerly a progressive tuberculosis sanatorium, today a charming, beautiful and historic hotel: Schatzalp certainly remains the ideal place to breathe deeply!
