Nicolas Cage, his retirement as a film actor is near

Nicolas Cage assured this Monday that his acting retirement is close as he is interested in exploring other formats beyond the big screen.

“Maybe I have three or four more films left,” said the actor in an interview with Vanity Fair, in which he explained that he was satisfied with his film career.

“I feel that I have said what I had to say with the cinema and I think I have expressed it film performance as much as I could – he said.

In the interview, the ‘Leaving Las Vegas’ singer clarified that he has no intention of completely giving up acting and that he is interested in researching television and streaming in order not to remain “stuck”.

“I don’t know. I have to look for the next step, and I haven’t found it yet,” the actor said.

The actor’s statements come after a very active year in which he starred in five premieres in 2023. The latest is ‘Dream Scenario’, by Norwegian filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli.

Cage (59) revealed in an interview that he wants to devote more time to his family, after becoming a father for the third time in 2022.

“I was shooting the time I had left. I thought: my father died at the age of 75, I will be 60. If I’m lucky, I have about 15 years left, I hope more. What do I want to do with those 15 years, taking my father as a model? It was very clear to me that I wanted to spend time with my family,” he admitted.

Cage is one of the most prolific actors in Hollywood.

His work in the movie ‘Living Las Vegas’ brought him an award Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Actor in 1996, and his career has been marked by titles such as Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Rumble Fish’; ‘Racing with the Moon’, Richard Benjamin; and more commercial films like ‘Face/Off’ or ‘Ghost Rider’.
