After Robert and Carmen Geiss attended the Formula 1 race in Abu Dhabi, an incident occurred on the high seas. When the RTLzwei actors drove their yacht back into the Marina harbour, the “Indigo Star 1” steered uncontrollably towards land and got stuck in the sand. The 59-year-old then expressed his anger on Instagram. Whether it was a malfunction of the captain or a technical defect remains to be seen.

One thing is clear: it is not a small boat, but a luxurious luxury yacht. According to the website “Superyachtfan” it is 38 meters long and would be worth approximately 4.3 million francs. Of course, Robert Geiss doesn’t like to screw them up.

The ship, built in 1995, offers a total of five cabins on board for a maximum of ten guests. There are also additional cabins for up to seven crew members. The vehicle, which weighs a total of 310 tons, can reach a top speed of 24 knots, or about 44 kilometers per hour.

While Robert Geiss is still looking for the cause of the accident, there are mainly critical voices among his 608,000 Instagram followers. “So we will never stop climate change,” one user wrote. “There is almost a meter of fresh snow. I don’t know how I’m going to get to work tomorrow. “I find it comforting that everyone has their own problems,” says another tongue-in-cheek comment from another user.

Another jokingly asked if he should “donate money” to the Geissens now. But it is doubtful whether this is really necessary. Or is the luxury ship not owned by Robert Geiss at all? An advertising print of his fashion brand “Roberto Geissini” can be seen on the yacht. Appropriately, the fashion label’s homepage states: “Roberto Geissini is an exclusive fashion label owned by the owner of Indigo Star I: Robert Geiss.” So everything is that easy?

The ownership structure does not seem to be so clear. As ‘Bild’ writes, the yacht is owned by the Luxembourg company Ghost Shipping Company SA. Robert Geiss owns shares in the company, but the amount is unclear. The entrepreneur could also finance such a ship himself. “I have filled the 100 million euros. That is the pension, that is the basis so that I can still live quietly at the age of 70,” said Robert Geiss in a podcast at the end of last year. He made tons of money through his former fashion label Uncle Sam alone.
