If an actor wants to do justice to Superman on the big screen, he not only needs charisma, but also a more than impressive physique. Henry Cavill recently impressively reconciled these two aspects in “Man Of Steel”, “Batman V Superman” and “Justice League”. Can David Corenswet in James Gunn’s “Superman: Legacy” keep up?
The “Pearl” star has proven several times in the past that he is a good actor. But what about the muscles? Until now, the 1.93 meter high Corenswet has always presented himself in athletic form, but for Superman he simply lacked massiveness. Until now! Because now photos have been published that show how much Corenswet has already pumped itself up:
Although the new Man of Steel still hides his upper body under a sweatshirt, the dimensions of his physique are more than clearly visible – yes, Corenswet has gained a lot of muscle mass and – partly thanks to the full beard that is reminiscent of the first third of “Man Of Steel” – shows a certain resemblance to Henry Cavill. However, you should not necessarily expect that Corenswet will also wear a full beard for parts of the film. Filming won’t begin until spring 2024, so unlike the muscles, this part of his appearance isn’t necessarily part of preparing for the role.
In any case, we can be sure that the new Man Of Steel will have a lot to offer physically when we see him in action in ‘Superman: Legacy’.
In the comic spectacle directed by James Gunn we are dealing with a young Superman and his self-discovery. In addition to David Corenswet, the ensemble consists of Rachel Brosnahan (as Louis Lane), Nicholas Hoult (as Lex Luthor), Skyler Gisondo (as Jimmy Olsen) and Sara Sampaio (as Eve Tschmacher). “Superman: Legacy” is expected to premiere in German cinemas on July 10, 2025.
