Sylvester Stallone is 77 years old and would have easily earned his retirement. The Netflix documentary ‘Sly’ could be the perfect ending. A look back at his life, celebrated by many fans and a real hit on the streaming service. But for Stallone it is the starting signal for much more – for many other films and series with and by him…
Such as the industry magazine with very good access to the actor, author, director and producer reports that Stallone has found a new agency in Hollywood. In the future he will be represented in all areas by the United Talent Agency, UTA for short – and with big goals. reports the “beginning of a new career chapter” for Stallone – a formulation that should have been agreed with the actor.
Many more Stallone films and series – with Amazon Prime Video
But what is Stallone up to? We will certainly continue to see him as an actor in front of the camera. A second season of his hit series ‘Tulsa King’ is already in the works. He is currently filming the action film ‘Armored’, which will be released in 2024. Several other projects are on the agenda.
But above all, Stallone has big plans behind the camera. The company he founded in 2018, Balboa Productions, with which he produced ‘Sly’, ‘Tulsa King’ and ‘Samaritan’, is now set to make a big impact. Stallone will focus on “positive and valuable stories” in this work. He wants to use the company to bring the “next generation of authors, filmmakers and stars” to the fore.
To achieve this, Stallone and his company signed a deal with the legendary Hollywood company MGM. The studio with the roaring lion in the credits also once released ‘Rocky’. MGM is now owned by Amazon – so the deal is now with the online retail giant’s film studio (and not Netflix, as you might expect after the success of “Sly”). As a result of this agreement, Stallone, MGM and Amazon Studios want to tackle a range of very different projects:
It is expected that both films and series will be released in the coming years. This must concern so-called scripted content, including feature films and drama series, but also unscripted content, such as reality formats or game shows. Stallone’s company will develop the projects, and he himself will always be involved – and often not only as a producer. The intention is that Stallone will also be a writer, director and of course an actor on many of these projects.
Stallone fans can rejoice. There will be a lot to see of the “Rocky” and “Rambo” legend in the coming years.
