“I often scroll through social media and think to myself: How can you do so much?” says cabaret performer and slam poet Lisa Christ (32). says. After an illness nearly a year ago that left her bedridden for weeks, she criticizes her previous lifestyle. Lisa’s personal journey outside of speed is part of this podcast episode.

According to Ulrike Ehlert, a psychologist at the University of Zurich, society today faces a different environment than it did decades ago. People are exposed to much more stimulation and constant information overload. Additionally, the norms of how one should live have changed. “Fitting as much as possible into the available time is what many people want today,” says the psychologist.

We only brake when there’s an explosion

Usually rethinking occurs only when psychological problems arise as a result or major problems arise, for example, due to a physical illness. “Then people are ready to ask themselves: Does this really do any good for me?”
