Just over half a year has passed since the sixth season of “Black Mirror” dropped on Netflix – and proved to be a huge success for the streaming service! The sixth season secured a place in the top 10 of the Netflix charts in 92 countries. In addition, the season spent four weeks in the global top 10 of English-language TV series.
It is therefore not surprising that Netflix is very interested in further expanding the format. And now it has been decided that ‘Black Mirror’ will be renewed for a seventh season. This reports exclusive. It can be assumed that series creator Charlie Brooker as well as Annabel Jones and Jessica Rhoades will be involved again as executive producers.
Plot details and episode count for season 7 are not yet known. The dystopian anthology series is mainly about predicting the future in a cynical and even depressing way. Most completed episodes reveal the impact of technology and media on our society. Of course, this also involves artificial intelligence.
From previous “Black Mirror” seasons, we are used to seeing a lot of familiar faces involved. In season 6, Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, Miley Cyrus and Salma Hayek were part of the illustrious cast. For season 7, there will certainly be attempts to hire some stars – perhaps Robert Downey Jr., who is a big fan of the series and even wanted to get a ‘Black Mirror’ movie made:
