There are people who enjoy cleaning and there are people who hate it more than anything else. Depending on what kind of person you are, there’s good or bad news: There are still some places that need cleaning that you never thought about.

We come into contact with remote controls, door handles and light switches only briefly, but on a daily basis. They serve as a means to an end, but are often forgotten or neglected during cleaning. But many microbes can accumulate on these very things. Especially since we touch them with our hands, which carry a lot of bacteria.

Our closets are often so full that it’s easy to overlook dirt and dust. However, it is definitely not a bad idea to empty the contents of the cabinet and clean it thoroughly once in a while. These cabinets include but are not limited to shoe cabinets, wardrobes, refrigerators and other shelves in the home.

Many of us use a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone every day. We hold or work on our little helpers several times. The smartphone, in particular, is a constant companion in different places. You take it off when you have touched many other things recently. Natel is said to be one of the biggest transmitters of harmful bacteria. Therefore, it is recommended to disinfect the phone regularly. You should do the same with tablets, laptops or computers.

Bookshelves sometimes seem like dust magnets. You’ll especially notice this if you haven’t taken anything off the shelf in a while. Therefore, it is useful to empty the bookshelf and dust it along with the books at least once a year.

There’s no monster lurking under the bed, just a lot of dust. Just because dust isn’t very visible under and under furniture doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. So it’s worth cleaning these areas occasionally.

In many homes, clothes have a regular washing cycle. What about belts? These aren’t usually made from the stuff you put in the washing machine, so they’re quickly forgotten when you’re doing laundry. However, belts can get as dirty as other clothes, if not more so. After all, we touch it every time we go to the toilet.

Easy-care or artificial houseplants require little attention. But even these need to be dusted from time to time. If you already have an old houseplant, you should take care of it. It is also healthier for a real houseplant to be dust-free.

Most of the time, we have so little interest in these devices that we forget about them while cleaning the house. However, just because we do not touch them directly does not mean that they are resistant to dust and dirt. If you think these can’t be that dirty, you may want to look at an old vent or the back of the heater.

Curtains are often much dirtier than you think. Therefore, regular and correct cleaning is important. Shower curtains in particular are attractive to bacteria and germs. A wet shower curtain is an inviting breeding ground for bacteria.

You should also clean the cleaning equipment itself. After all, trying to clean dirt with dirty tools won’t do much good. In addition, vacuum cleaners with dust inside may cause technical malfunctions as dust can get stuck in the gaps. The device can no longer absorb dirt either.
