The ‘Flowrida Goats’ is Daddy Yankee’s paddle tennis team

Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Daddy Yankee announced this Monday that his Professional Paddle League (PPL) franchise in Orlando will be called the “Flowrida Goats” for the 2024 season.

“We will give more fluidity to padel. This equipment will change the face of the sport,” the reggaetonist and businessman, who will culminate his musical career with a series of performances in Puerto Rico at the end of November and beginning of December, said in a statement.

“This revolutionary team aims to bring a new perspective to rowing and revolutionize the sport with their dynamic style of play,” the statement said.

With the launch of the franchise Orlando, The PPL “will witness another success in the expansion of this sport,” he adds.

“As president of our padel team, I am pleased to present the new name of our team, a symbol of unity, passion and competitive spirit,” said Luis Carrero, president of Flowrida Goats.

For his part, Marcos del Pilar, commissioner of the PPL, the first league team professional padel from North America, expressed his satisfaction with the fact that “a global icon like Daddy Yankee is part of the Pro Padel League and that his franchise is announcing the name and brand of its team for the 2024 season.”

“We hope that Orlando will announce their players in the Flowrida goats and the impact the team will have on the bright future of PPL and padel sports in North America and beyond,” he added.

The statement said that paddle tennis, originally from Mexico, “is a high-caliber sport and is a mixture of tennis and squash.”

“It is considered the fastest growing sport in the world, there are more than 25 million active padel players in 110 countries,” he points out.
