These strange things are already forgotten in Uber cars

Annika Danielmeier / watson.de

For the first time, Uber has published facts and figures about the use of its ride-hailing service – about the friendliest cities, the most popular destinations and much more. Unfortunately only for Germany.

As fate would have it, all kinds of things are lost during taxi rides. Uber reports what passengers forget in its atlas and shows: There are also very strange objects.

According to the Uber Atlas, Germans most often forget typical valuables: Cell phones, wallets and keys. But there were also some bizarre things. Two painted rat traps were reportedly found. Someone also left a bucket with a mop for the Uber driver. Also: a Tamagotchi and an important return package, namely an audio guestbook for the wedding.

Groceries were also forgotten once or twice. This included nuts, a frozen duck and – particularly strangely – two buckets of dough.

According to Uber, passengers in Munich are the most forgetful. Nowhere else were more items forgotten in the car last year in relation to the number of journeys made. Düsseldorf and Cologne follow in second and third place. People in Munich are ten percent more likely to forget things in their car than people in Dusseldorf.

In the end, most passengers were lucky. As Uber reports in its press release, most lost items were quickly recovered by their owners through customer service.

The company has also published a lot of other information and data in the German Atlas, including where most trips went. Clubs are therefore a popular destination. Berghain in Berlin was especially popular, followed by Berlin’s Sisyphus.

The friendliest passengers got into the cars in Hannover and Augsburg. Drivers in Mannheim received the most tips. A person from Munich used Uber the most: with 1081 trips. In second place was a Berliner who booked 993 rides via Uber.

The longest ride in an Uber was over 550 miles. The person spent almost nine hours in the car to get from Berlin-Brandenburg Airport to Zurich Airport. In three cases, however, the distance traveled was less than 50 meters.
