Horror slasher Art The Clown has created a real picture book success story. “Terrifier” opened in theaters in 2016 on a shoestring budget of just $35,000. The sequel “Terrifier 2” cost much more at $250,000, but grossed more than $15 million worldwide. A real success, which the film also owes to its shock marketing. Vomiting fits, running away from the theater and fainting cinema guests: a visit to ‘Terrifier 2’ in 2022 was like a test of courage.
For the sequel “Terrifier 3”, which is currently in development, director Damien Leone has already announced that he will raise the bar in terms of disgust and violence. After the American release date was recently published, it has now been announced when the terrorist clown will be able to leave cinemas covered in blood again in Germany. “Terrifier 3” opens in this country just in time for Halloween, which is on October 31, 2024 – exactly one week after its US release. And while no one will be happy to wait longer than necessary for a highly anticipated film, it can be noted that the release date for Art’s return could hardly have been chosen more appropriately.
Although… The recently published poster already shows that the latest installment in the Gore series will be released at Christmas. Here you see Art sneaking around the Christmas tree with his “beautiful” smile. It’s actually a nice photo, but unfortunately the cruel clown is armed with an ax and wears Santa’s stripped face like an apron around his neck. We can probably expect a bloody Christmas.
“Terrifier 2” is currently available on Amazon Prime Video
If you want to prepare for the film again, you can currently find “Terrifier 2” in the Amazon Prime Video portfolio – at no extra cost and even uncut! Part 1 can also be accessed via the streaming giant, but is only available in a harmless FSK 18 version.
So if you want to know whether you should go to the cinema on October 31, 2024, this is a good way to find out whether the ‘Terrifier’ series suits your taste. If you like practical splash effects and have a strong stomach, you can definitely take a look. However, if you can’t see blood and/or prefer psychological horror, you’ve definitely come to the wrong place, as “Terrifier 2” is indeed an impressive combat record, but it certainly won’t appeal to every genre. fan.
