“Weekend Rebels” is an adaptation of the book “We Weekend Rebels: How an autistic boy and his father find happiness through football”. Mirco von Juterczenka and Jason von Juterczenka tell their moving, exciting and inspiring story. But of course the story of father and son did not end with the end of the first book and the movie. That is why a new book by the duo will soon be published:
‘Weekend Rebels 2.0 – Chaos at Eye Level’ is intended to continue telling the story after the end of the film. Anyone who has seen ‘Weekend Rebels’ already knows (if not, beware: SPOILERS) that at the end of the journey together through countless German football stadiums, Jason still has not found a favorite club. But the search did not end and spread to Europe. In the second book, father and son report on their various other trips, for example to Glasgow or Belgrade.
“Weekend Rebels 2.0” must once again offer much more than just football
The book ‘Weekend Rebels 2.0 – Chaos at eye level’ is financed through crowdfunding via the StartNext platform. At the time of publishing this article, the funding goal has already been reached. Anyone who participates before the end of the funding period on November 11, 2023 is guaranteed to receive the book (current delivery date is “mid-December at the latest”). The cost is €20, for €25 you can get a signed version of the book with a few more stickers. More information can be found on the official crowdfunding page.
There you will also find out that the second book will of course offer much more than just football. Jason’s chaos investigation, which is also mentioned in the film, is discussed and the Juterczenkas family agreement, which is also briefly seen in “Weekend Rebels”, is also discussed. There are also many other aspects that will now be described and explored here.
“Weekend rebels“In the meantime, the film will continue to be shown in German cinemas.
