Kidman is producing and starring in the series ‘Special Ops: Lioness’

The thriller and espionage series “Special Ops: Lioness,” starring Laysla de Oliveira, Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman, among others, will premiere in Spain from October 30 on SkyShowtime, the platform confirmed.

The series, inspired by a real program from American CIA to defeat Islamist terrorist organizations, is the work of Taylor Sheridan, screenwriter of the films “Sicario” (2015), “Hell or High Water” (2016) and co-creator of the television series “Yellowstone”.

In “Special Ops: Lioness”, Canadian actress De Oliveira plays Cruz Manuelosa “marine” recruited by Joe (Saldaña) to be part of the Lioness program with the goal of infiltrating the family environment of an Islamist terrorist leader.

At the presentation of the series in Toronto, the city where he was born De Oliveira 31 years ago, The Canadian actress told how Taylor Sheridan invited her to come to the casting for her next series “Special Ops: Lioness”.

As soon as the call ended, he answered by plane and met with Sheridan where “Yellowstone” was filmed for the rehearsal of the first episode of “Special Ops: Lioness”.

After returning to Toronto received the email in which they announced that she will be the protagonist. “When they told me that I would be the protagonist, I immediately started crying,” she said.

De Oliveira, who participated in films such as “Honorary guest” (2019) and television series such as “Gifted” and “Locke & Key,” added that when he hired Sheridan, he did not know that he would be in the project with Kidman, who is also an executive producer of the series.

“I knew Zoe would be there, which was more than that enough to pray to get the role. And I remember Taylor mentioning ‘Nicole’ on several occasions. And I started to wonder if it was Kidman,” the Canadian actress concluded.

The series began shooting in January 2023 Majorca (Spain). While the series was being filmed, Kidman posted several photos from her life on the Spanish island on her Instagram profile.
