Just don’t laugh during the holidays: that’s when the “LOL” Christmas special begins on Amazon Prime Video

It will be some time until the fifth season of “LOL: Last One Laughing” as it will not be available on Amazon Prime Video until Easter 2024. Until then, a good mood is guaranteed, because as was announced some time ago, fans of the successful comedy format can look forward to a ‘LOL’ Christmas special in December 2023. And now it has also been revealed when we will have to stop watching again laughing with the comedy stars.

Starting December 22, 2023, “LOL: Last One Laughing – XMAS Special” will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. This is evident from an official press release. This is a fitting start to the three-hour special XXL episode to ease our stressful Christmas holidays. So if you need some distraction from your relatives after spending time together with your family, you may find just the right alternative program here.

New features in the “LOL” Christmas special

By the way: the special running time of three hours is not the only innovation in the Christmas special. Unlike the regular first four ‘LOL’ seasons, this time there are some changes that will take effect in the special episode. This time, only eight (and not the usual ten) candidates will compete against each other – in teams of two.

These are the eight participants for the “LOL: Last One Laughing – XMAS Special”:

  • Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka
  • Carolin Kebekus and Teddy Teclebrhan
  • Martina Hill and Kurt Krömer
  • Michelle Hunziker and Rick Kavanian

This time it’s also about celebrities, all of whom have already taken part in the “LOL” laugh battle at least once (the frontrunners are Kurt Krömer and Anke Engelke, who have been at it for three seasons). In this regard, fans of the show can look forward to a “LOL” all-star meeting.

Everything else remains the same: under the leadership and stern gaze of Michael “Bully” Herbig, the candidates have to make each other laugh and whoever laughs flies – only this time as a duo. Ultimately, the team that remains wins a cash prize of 50,000 euros – which will of course be donated to charity.
