1. Walking on Tellsplatte
What’s in the middle of Switzerland? The “Swiss Way”, of course. Like so many things in this country, it’s beautiful and should be a meeting place and an example of nature’s careful treatment. An easy section of the trail leads along the breathtaking Lake Lucerne via Tellsplatte UR.
2. Walking in the Areuse Gorge
Adventurers will love the deep gorges and raging waters along with the boldly landscaped hiking trails through the wild Areuse Valley. You can strengthen yourself with local chocolate at Noiraigue NE train station, which is the starting point of the walk. The easy route takes approximately three hours to Boudry NE, where the return journey by train is possible. But beware: the walk is great!
3. Walking the Étang de la Gruère
A unique steppe landscape with wonderful autumn colors around a pristine lake – an autumn trip couldn’t be more beautiful. The nature reserve Étang de la Gruère, around Switzerland’s largest swamp lake in Freiberge JU, is home to a unique flora and fauna with its acidic soil. Moulin de la Gruère JU, the starting point of the eight and a half kilometer hike, can be reached by bus from Tramelan BE. After the excursion, the return journey is by train from Saignelégier JU.
4. Walking along the Reuss
Turquoise blue water reflecting the colorful autumn forest: what could be more beautiful? The freely curving, sheltered part of Reuss is a haven for rare birds and insects. Bring binoculars! There are countless possibilities for excursions. A simple route takes, for example, from Bremgarten AG through a nature reserve to reach Ottenbach ZH in about three hours and 15 minutes. Bremgarten itself is beautiful too, well worth a stroll through town before hiking.
5. Walking the Murg
Chestnut trees grow on the well-marked sweet chestnut road in Murg am Walensee as in Ticino. Even after the popular fruit season is over, the chestnut trail remains one of the most beautiful hikes in autumn. At least because it crosses the beautiful Murgbach waterfall. The route is very suitable for families and runs from the village square of Murg SG to the Murger Forest. The circular route is two and a half kilometers long.
