Day of the Dead: Film Festival ‘Coco’

Dozens of artists will celebrate the Day of the Dead on November 3 and 4 with the event “Coco: a festival to remember”, which will be held at La Monumental Plaza México, in the country’s capital, and which aims to spread the Mexican culture and music of the rancheros.

“All of us involved are very excited because it’s an extremely important event, it’s an extraordinary setting,” Mexican singer Pedro Fernández, one of the artists who will participate in the concert, said at the press conference.

Singer Ceci de la Cueva agreed with Fernández and assured that this kind of concerts help “our new generations to be in touch with our tradition”.

The festival, with an average duration of three hours, will be completed with interactive offera parade of fluorescent alebrios, skulls, magical characters, special participation of a dozen artists, among others surprises.

Among the artists who will participate in the eventApart from Fernandez, there will be Eugenia León, the Spanish Natalia Jiménez, Ceci de la Cueva, Omar Chaparro, among others.

While the Mexican group Los Ángeles Azules will be in charge of closing the event.

Artists will perform songs symbol of the film like “Remember me”, “A little crazy”, “Llorona” among other successes in their careers. Chacho Gaytán will be in charge of the musical direction.

In addition, they announced that the event will include bar viewand the soundtrack will be performed by a live orchestra.

“There will be more than 140 people on stage with more than 300 costume changes“, said Felipe Fernández del Paso, event director.

Fernández del Paso explained that the show was intended mexican families, who will be able to access the venue, located in the south of Mexico City, starting at 17:00 local time (23:00 GMT).

They will be able to have an impressive experience there, because the input will simulate a step from the world of the living to the world of the dead that can be seen in the film.

“We want people to go dressed as catrinas, skeletons, so they feel like they’re living inside the film,” said the director.

In addition, there will be a monumental altar on which public climb through a photo application a deceased relative or loved one to project it.

The organizers specified that the event, inspired by disney movie, It aims to set a precedent and then move to other venues within and outside the country, although they have not yet announced the cities or nations where this show could be shown.
