FLAT croissants? Yes! I do!

This time Emily gave a recipe suggestion without comment. But one with the simply untranslatable headline “#Crispycroissant is our new favorite way to make #croissant”. Oh yeah: quickly change a noun to a verb and the catchy TikTok-friendly headline is there! About: “#Crispy croissants are our new favorite way to #climb” … Oh, that’s no longer possible in German.

Anyway, this is what is meant here:

Ooh. Roll croissants flat? Cool. And then fry in a pan with butter and honey until crispy? Come to think of it, it could be something like Prussia-Guetzli. A little sweet, sure, but probably nice.

Okay, I used maple syrup instead of honey. I also – distracted by all the filming – allowed the croissants to burn a bit. Nevertheless, I can say without any doubt: This method is perfect for making slightly stale croissants edible again! (In any case, most croissants in this country are way too dry, But that’s another topic…) And you can be inventive with the toppings. For example, I used sour cream and a little lemon zest. Sweet teenage daughter tries butter and jam. It’s fine either way.
