Ploumanac’h, France

Ploumanac’h Beach is located on the north coast of Brittany, in an area also called the Pink Granite Coast: rounded rocks, reminiscent of the Seychelles, glow red in the evening light. Here Instagram etc. You can take great shots for. The special attraction of Ploumanac’h beach is also the view of the picturesque castle on the water, the 19th-century Chateau de Costere. If you don’t want to swim, there are many hiking trails in the area.

Sandwood Bay, Scotland

Who would have thought that in the rugged northwestern part of Scotland, despite the air and water temperature a few degrees lower, wonderful beaches are hidden, which in the photographs even resemble the Caribbean. Sandwood Bay is a beach dream and can only be reached by a four-mile hike. The two-kilometer-long bay is surrounded by rocks and is known for its characteristic stone pillar in the sea.

Myrtos Beach, Greece

One of the pearls of Greece lies in the Ionian Sea: Myrtos Beach on the island of Kefalonia is rightly praised as the most beautiful beach in the country. Nestled among high rocks and green hills, Myrtos is a real gem. The good: The island of Kefalonia has been spared the worst excesses of beach tourism. The beach is officially protected from construction work to prevent large hotel chains from settling here and destroying the idyllic view.

Ölüdeniz Beach, Türkiye

Ölüdeniz beach in the Turkish Aegean is a real hit on Instagram. Due to its deep blue sea (under special lighting conditions), the beach is also often called the Blue Lagoon. The long semicircular bay is divided into two. One part is a normal tourist beach with typical hotels and beach facilities. The other part is protected and requires a small entrance fee: the beach here is particularly beautiful.

Reynisfjara, Iceland

Now things get dramatic! Reynisfjara beach, with its black volcanic sand, clearly stands out from the list of white beaches associated with the image of a dreamy beach. That’s exactly why a trip to one of the world’s most famous black beaches is worth it. What further strengthens the tremendous impression are the basalt columns extending into the sea here – the remains of volcanoes in Iceland. It’s too cold for swimming but the visit is absolutely stunning.

Praia de Marinha, Portugal

Many people know Praia de Marinha in the Algarve from the cover of one travel magazine or another. The bay’s sandstone cliffs and extremely photogenic natural archway make the beach a true beach paradise. The golden sand and clear water also attract many tourists here; so in low season and early in the morning it looks as heavenly as it does in the photos. So: plan well!

Catedrais, Spain

Catedrais beach is located in the northern Spanish region of Galicia on the Atlantic Ocean. Designated a national monument, this area is known for its naturally occurring rock formations and towering cliffs. The stones are stacked and carved by seawater in such a way that they give the impression of the entrance of a cathedral; hence the Galician name “Catedrais”. It is especially worth visiting during low tide as the beach is flooded when the water level is high.

Elafonisi, Crete

One of the beaches that stands out on social media is Elafonisi Beach in Crete. The special ambience is due not only to the turquoise blue water but also to the pink glow. This is due to ground up parts of shell and coral that have drifted here for thousands of years and appear pink in special lighting conditions.

Stobrec Jug Beach, Croatia

Croatia is known for its dreamy beaches. The city of Split is considered one of the most beautiful places in the country with its ruins from the Roman and Renaissance periods. The beaches around the city are also great for swimming and sunbathing, with their white sands and clear waters. Just a few kilometers outside the turbulent city is Stobrec Jug Beach, where you can escape the tourist crowds.
