‘Frasier’ has undoubtedly written series history and is not only one of the best, but also one of the most successful series of all time – the format can often be found in various best lists – including in the FILMSTARTS ranking of the best sitcoms. In addition, the series that aired between 1993 and 2004 was about radio presenter and psychologist Dr. Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) won a whopping 37 Primetime Emmys – a record at the time!
A reboot was announced five years ago, but over time eventually developed into a revival, a belated sequel, so to speak. Almost exactly 19 years after the eleventh and so far last season finale, ‘Frasier’ continues with the first two episodes premiering on October 13, 2023 on Paramount+. The remaining new episodes (ten in total have been filmed) will then be released weekly.

The streaming service Paramount also has “Cheers” on offer. This cult sitcom stars the character Dr. Frasier Crane makes her first appearance. Because ‘Frasier’ is a spin-off.
Kelsey Grammer will of course once again play the lead role in the upcoming revival. But there will be more returnees. In addition to Grammer, Bebe Neuwirth (as Frasier’s ex-wife Lilith) and Peri Gilpin (as Frasier’s colleague and good friend Roz) also appear in small roles. It remains to be seen if there will be one or two cameos.
The cast of the new ‘Frasier’ episodes also includes Frasier’s old college friend Alan (Nicholas Lyndhurst), who is now a professor, Olivia (Toks Olagundoye), the head of the university’s psychology department, and Frasier’s son Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott ), and his cousin David (Anders Keith), both of whom were part of the original series. Jess Salgueiro will also star as Freddy’s roommate Eve.
Chris Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) and Joe Cristalli (“Life In Pieces”) are responsible for the revival, in which Frasier returns to his hometown of Boston. Kelsey Grammer also serves as producer.
