Venezuelan singer José Luis Rodríguez ‘El Puma’ said in Santo Domingo, where he will hold a concert next Saturday, that there are those who want to reduce the world’s population with “various plagues and diseases”.
“The world, the planet, is in labor pains. There is no human group, no people who can fix it planetary problem. This is a matter of divine intervention. There are those who want to eliminate the elderly, the disabled, because all these people are of no use to them, so they want to reduce the world’s population,” said a well-known interpreter at a press conference.
Rodríguez, 80, talked animatedly with journalists, joking and although he remembered that “there are many” singers of his generation who died, he mentioned that “there are still some” (Spanish) Raphael, (British) Tom Jones and that he is “not in a hurry to leave”.
He believes that at this stage of his life he is under “examination”, since he “started from scratch”, alluding to the double lung transplant he underwent in December 2017, whose recovery he repeated that “it was a miracle”.
“I am a living testimony that miracles exist and that they don’t exist faith is impossible to come here. In other words, I will go as long as my profession allows me and my body can endure, without procrastinating,” he said.
Puma has maintained a career since 60 years in music, acting, production and television management, mostly.
The singer of sound hits like “Vale la pena Volver”, “Hold hands”, “I have a right to be happy”, “It’s my fault” or “Owner of nothing”, he believes that “romantic” lyrics will take over the audience again, although he admitted that modern rhythms like reggaeton” are here to stay.
Regarding social networks, he said that he constantly consults them “to be informed and to laugh” and highlighted the “power” that people have gained with these tools.
“I see a lot of funny things on the networks, but every person has to see them awareness about what you write, so as not to offend someone and not offend someone, write false testimonies. A lie can harm many people, we see ‘bullying’ that led boys and girls to commit suicide (…) I can’t measure the extent of a lie on a young person. People get carried away by people. There are some fake followers,” he commented. Puma.
The interpreter of “I would have to cry for you” said that from the moment you are born you start dying, so you have to know how to use time.
“Your blank check is time and you allocate it in your own way, in your own way and it depends on you whether you will have discipline, whether you will reach the end or not. If you are preparing for a long race you must have discipline, “This profession, this career, as with athletes, it requires discipline,” he reflected.
The artist will be accompanied on Saturday by a symphony orchestra to present his concert “Thank you tours” in it National Theater Eduardo Brito Dominican capital.
“You (Dominicans) have something that is rarely found in the country, which is the joy of living, regardless of the situation, regardless of the economy, regardless of politics, regardless of the world war, plagues, you have the desire to live and they convey it to all to people who go out,” he said.
