“Jason [Blum] and I absolutely agree that we should want to watch ‘Friday the 13th’,” Turek said . “I really want to get back to basics. It doesn’t take many ingredients to make a ‘Friday the 13th’ movie. You need summer camp, the campers, and Jason Voorhees in a mask.”
He is aware that he once described ‘Halloween – The Night of Horrors’ as the ultimate slasher – and that opinion has not changed. But “Friday the 13th.‘ is something he really leans into as a franchise. “I just love everything”Turek is enthusiastic about it, among other things.
