British actress Sophie Turner played the role of Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones for eight seasons, growing more and more viewers over the years. Brad Schwartz, The CW’s head of entertainment, praises Turner and her new series “Joan” in the podcast TV top 5 on the highest tones. On Turner as a jewel thief, he calls her ‘phenomenal’ and is sure that the production will bring prices. Hannington was nicknamed “The Godmother” in the London underworld because her coups were so sophisticated and spectacular. But Hannington wasn’t always a criminal…
Hannington is in her twenties when she decides to start a new life. She wants to get rid of her abusive husband Gary and creates a new identity for herself and her six-year-old daughter Kelly. To earn money, she decides to steal jewelry and other valuables – with great success.
Incidentally, ‘Joan’ is based on Hannington’s own memories, which she recorded in her autobiography ‘I Am What I Am’. According to Brad Schwartz, “Joan” will air on the CW in early or mid-2024. It is not yet clear when and if we will see the series in Germany.
