Everything you need to know about the Street Parade

For the 30th time, the largest techno party in the world will take place in Lake Zurich. Here you will find all information about the mega event.

About 900,000 people took part in the Street Parade last summer, dancing through the streets of Zurich in good weather. It’s that time again on Saturday, August 12.

The centerpiece of the Street Parade is the parade of about 30 Love Mobiles, filling the streets with their sound. The two-kilometer route starts at Utoquai. Along the lake basin it goes in the direction of Bellevue, then over the Quaibrücke to Bürkliplatz and on to the Hafendamm Enge.

The program takes place on and around the Love Mobiles and on the eight different stages along the route. Here you can read when which DJs will be on which stage. The big party in the middle of the city starts at 1 pm and lasts until midnight. But don’t worry, you don’t have to go home right away, you can just keep partying at one of the many after parties.

The weather forecast for next Saturday looks very good. After we had to endure rather autumnal weather in recent weeks, the sun is back in time for the Techno Parade. MeteoSwiss predicts mostly sunny weather with maximum temperatures of up to 30 degrees for August 12. In the evening there may be occasional showers or thunderstorms – so it is better to pack rain gear. You can also view the current forecast here.

Anyone who has ever been to the Street Parade knows that if you come by car, it is your own fault. The organizers and the city recommend traveling by public transport. The SBB offers numerous extra trains so that you can get home safely in the early morning hours. Zurich city police also announce several driving and stopping bans and warn that no parking spaces will be available in the city center.

The number of toilets is expanded every year, says the Street Parade press officer when asked. This year there are still 100 toilets available for revelers. There are different ways to urinate: from the classic Toitoi to the male pee ring to toilet towers, which are cleaned continuously. Depending on where you want to relieve yourself, you may have to pay a small amount – but most toilets are free.

The parade route is secured by a large contingent of city police. The movement of the crowd is also observed from the air from a helicopter. The water police oversees the lake basin. The organizers of the Streetparade call for partying without the influence of drugs and excessive alcohol consumption. If you still want to consume something, you can have your medicines tested at the drug information center in Zurich at Bürkliplatz.

There is also a special warning for Ecstasy, ie MDMA pills. Their exact content composition – usually they are stretched with additional substances such as amphetamine – can only be determined by laboratory analysis. The colorful pills are often very high doses – so high that an overdose can occur.
